How often should you have your gutters cleaned?

Updated: Mar 3, 2020

Your gutters play an important role in protecting your home keeping them clean will help them do their job.

So how often should you have them cleaned? Every property is different but hopefully this will help you determine how often your own gutters need cleaning.

Many experts recommend cleaning your gutters twice a year– once in spring and again after the autumn leaves have fallen but you should get your gutters cleaned at least once a year.

Normally with our gutters the inside of them is out of sight and out of mind until they start to leak and cause other problems or costly damage to you property.

Trees surrounding your property can lead to your gutters needing to be cleaned more often than the average property as they can drop debris through most of the year.

In many parts of Surrey moss can be a huge problem for our gutters and leading to blockages in down pipes and causing rain water to backup and overflow out of the gutters.

Do gutter guards prevent the need to schedule gutter cleaning? The short answer is they may extend the time in between cleaning but do not prevent the need for maintenance. Unfortunately, some people who invest a lot of money in guards are let down in the end.

We are offering free gutter checks using a camera so you can see exactly what is going on inside of them.

We will be looking for any debris that may lead to blockages, leaking joints and making sure your down pipes are not clogged.

This service is free for property's in Surrey and surrounding areas with no obligation.

Using a powerful wet and dry vacuum system, we can remove debris, water, moss, stones, mud and pretty much anything you might find clogging up your guttering system!

The majority of work is undertaken from ground level, using light-weight carbon fibre poles to tackle heights up to 35ft, allowing us to clean gutters quickly, efficiently and safely.

Having this system allows us to reach guttering over extensions, conservatories, balconies, bay roofs and many awkward places that traditional ladder-and-bucket methods cannot compete with.

Have family and friends in Surrey that could benefit from our free gutter check? Share this on your social media so that they can take advantage of our free service.

Prices for our gutter cleaning services can be found on our gutter cleaning page.
